Bakers´shop Schmidt

The new, bigger branch of Bäckerei Schmidt in Weißenburg was finished in June 2016 by Holz und Design Wurm.

We renewed the shop counter and the winter garden. Our customer’s request had been defined as follows: This branch has to become more trendy. According to this request we picked up trends as vintage & concrete, prints & felts, carton & wood, simple seating shapes and built them into the new design.

Die challenge for the new room concept was to meet everybody needs in between the various clients structure: friends, who come for breakfast or lunch, workers for having a quick snack, young people enjoying burgers and those, who would like to enjoy a coffee while reading the newspaper… we decided to build up different areas by means of different materials and designs.

The shop area was designed and implemented according to the CI: two massive wooden frames with back wall in slate optics bring attention to the backed goods. The counter made of illuminated wooden slats is divided by a central situated glass cube with an installed bread roll. Due to its orange lacquered glasses it becomes an eye catcher.

In the winter garden large chairs upholstered by artificial leather in vintage optics provide an enjoyable ambiance. Comfortable wicker chairs invite customers to stay for a while. Earthly colors underline the calm area. 

Benches and upholstered chairs made of vintage leather attract friends to spend time together. Modern ambiance is given by a large wooden table and simple, but colored felt upholstery. This arrangement was designed for groups and young clients. 

Wooden chairs and hand-forged metal tables in the entrance area as well as high benches and tables are prepared for taking a quick snack.
