Steakhouse Spillmann

Nuremberg 2012

Steakhouse Spillmann’s in Nuremberg is not recognized by the typical features of an American steakhouse: as it convinces through very elegant and minimalist design. Holz and Design Wurm realized the restaurant according to the designs of Jürgen Pfaff.

Spillmann’s offers next to steaks also cocktails and is seen as perfect location, where guest can  spend their evening: first to enjoy an excellent dinner followed by cocktails – or even the other way around – and both in an elegant atmosphere. Instead of a rustic, country-style   or   ‘cowboy atmosphere’ guests are welcomed at a bright restaurant and cozy lounge.

Its minimalistic designed furniture, such as bright wooden tables, which can be easily changed from two to four or more group seating. The chairs and beige colored upholstered benches harmonize with the sand-colored wall. The bright wooden floor and beige curtains round off the perfect modern ambiance.

The salad bar in oval shape consists of an metallic base and dark granite plate. Its shape reminds  of a lasso. In included, wood framed wine storage cabinets guests can see the fine wine selection.

The sideboard is shaped according to a bull skeleton. The manufacture required an

expert knowledge and high skilled craftsmanship to join back together the element at right-angles with mitre joint.  A living wall created with cacti and flowers separates the restaurant from the lounge area. Here, stools with artificial cowhide and modern leather lounge chairs form the seating area. As supplementary room divider wood and wine shelf steles in various heights were installed.

The cocktail bar fits perfectly into the ambiance: glass shelves in the back area present fine spirits and liqueurs, offset arranged wood shelves stow the glasses. Indirect lights were perfectly installed into the niche. The wooden block reminds of a saddle.

With its minimalistic furniture and its perfectly tuned color choice the transformation of a traditional American steakhouse into a modern, fine steak restaurant and lounge succeeded.
